Beach Volleyball Loses at No. 11 Hawai’i

HONOLULU, Hawai’i – Portland’s beach volleyball team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 11 Hawai’i on Saturday, the first of three matches the Pilots will play at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.

The Rainbow Wahine (18-11) showed why they are one of the top beach programs in the nation, winning all five pairings in straight sets.

The three-match road trip is a homecoming of sorts for many Pilots (8-9) as five players and both beach coaches are from the Hawaiian Islands.

Saturday’s match versus Grand Canyon is set for 3 p.m. (PT) and Monday’s against Hawaii Pacific is 11 a.m. (PT). Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Ching Courts.
